Eurosport pick up European broadcast rights to 2011 ISTAF World Cup

The deals have been done and most of the results are in. ISTAF and UFA Sports have sold rights to several broadcasters including Eurosport. Sepak Takraw has been broadcast before by channels like ESPN but never before has filming and broadcasting been done on this scale. Add to this the fact that ISTAF has customised the rules to suit a TV audience and you can see why there’s a buzz surrounding this upcoming tournament.

The ISTAF World Cup starts on the 21st July and finishes on the 24th. Unfortunately it looks like only Takraw homelands like Thailand and Malaysia will have live coverage but we’re excited all the same! Sepak Takraw has needed a big push to become a truly global sport and STUK feel this is a historic moment in the sports development.

The United Kingdom will have access via the Cable & Satellite channel, Eurosport 2. Check out the following lists to see what other countries are confirmed and on what channel(s) they’ll be watching.
